Asia Arthritis & Rheumatology Centre (AARC) is a private specialist clinic in Singapore providing bespoke services that optimise your body’s musculoskeletal and immune systems. AARC is helmed by a Senior Consultant Rheumatologist with more than 12 years of experience in treating patients with a multitude of autoimmune conditions, from simple to complex rheumatological diseases. These conditions include Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), Antiphospholipid Syndrome, Gout, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Inflammatory Myopathy, Psoriatic Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Rheumatic Diseases in Pregnancy Sjogren’s Syndrome, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Systemic Sclerosis/ Scleroderma, Vasculitis and Soft Tissue Rheumatism. In particular, our clinic specialises in treating patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a chronic multisystemic autoimmune disease, which is also known as lupus.

The satisfaction of being a rheumatologist

Dr Annie Law finds sheer joy in helping patients with autoimmune conditions recover. She joined one of the most established public hospitals in Singapore, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in 2012 and underwent 3 years of rigorous rheumatology training.

She chose to specialise in rheumatology because it is a field that is highly stimulating and fulfilling. Rheumatology requires a broad knowledge of all subspecialities as it encompasses a wide variety of conditions, spanning from simple arthritis to complex autoimmune conditions with multi-organ involvement. Her greatest source of pride, fulfilment and satisfaction comes from witnessing her patients recover. There is no greater joy than seeing individuals regain their physical well-being but also have the opportunity to enjoy life with their families and lead a normal life unhindered by their diagnosis.

Offering patients more personalised treatment in a comfortable and welcoming environment

Dr Annie Law decided to set up her own private specialist clinic to offer patients with rheumatological conditions a more bespoke experience. The Rheumatology Associate Professor resonates with the renowned physician William Osler's quote, "The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease". This is because she firmly believes in the importance of seeing the person behind the disease by taking the time to truly listen to her patients. As such, this philosophy motivates her to commit to holistic, patient-centred care, as there is ample time for discussions and to provide individualised treatment plans.
